This place is FIRE. Went to college in LA and love Leo's Chato Ave 26 king taco. Style of prep looks closest to gordos in SD

$1.10 tacos btw. Burritos quesadillas both 5.50

Make this place a go to if you're local

Came here for the al pastor tacos based on Yelp and other social media buzz. Ordered 3 tacos al pastor, but added 3 asada and 2 buche to get some variety. Al pastor was really good, but the star of the show for me was the buche. Al pastor was seasoned well and had good flavors but missing the char from the true rotisserie cooking. In fact it was clear the spit was for show. They sliced the meat from the pit and cooked on the cook top. I'm sure they once had the opportunity to slice the meat from the pit for each taco, but guessing their success is keeping them from doing that because of the lines. The buche though did have a nice char from the cook top, something I have not had before and I liked it. I liked it a lot. The carne asada was a pass for me. Tasted like it was cooked in a large batch hours before and I got the tail end of the batch. Decent flavors but no texture to the meat.

I also loved the salsa bar. Red salsa had a kick and was my fave, although the green has a milder kick but good flavors as well.

Pro tip: put some cucumbers and radishes in a bag and add lemon and red salsa. Great side dish or something to munch on while you wait for the food.

Que rico!!!   What a little gem!   Authentic as it can get.  Had a craving for some good taco al pastor.  Yelp guided me here.  And I was not disappointed.
Fast & friendly service with a smile.  Perfect 2 bites tacos.  Salsa had just the right amount of heat.  So satisfying.
Only give it 4 stars because I was disappointed in their horchata.  A bit too sweet and barely any hint of cinnamon.  But the tacos made up for it.  I will be back!

Husband and I were working in the backyard this morning of July 4th and burned thousands of calories.   Well, it felt like 1000's!

So I initially wanted a healthy lunch as we planned to have burgers for dinner.   Salad?  Ummm, where though?  Then I was craving tacos.  Guisados, in Boyle Heights?  So far....too lazy.  We know some good taco places close to home but we yelped and Husband chose this one.

    Good choice, my half-Mexican Husband!

He ordered a bean and cheese burrito and 3 x al pastor  tacos.

I had 3 x tacos.  Buche, carne asada, and al pastor.  The buche was so tender and seasoned just right.  The other two were equally awesome.

The condiment bar included chopped onions, cilantro, radish, lime, red and green salsa.  Simple.  And balanced out the fatty meats.  Like yin and yang.

One problem, you will smell like tacos until your next shower, lol.  But it's worth it!

Anyway, the burrito was our dessert, haha.  Beans were tasty and cheese melted nicely.

Washed all this down with a Coke.  Trust we gained all the calories we burned earlier.

Will return for sure.  Oh and WARNING:  the parking is a bit crazy, it's cash only, and prepare to stand in line (we were lucky and got here right before the line grew out the door)

Non-Latinx Person here and its damn yummy!

    1. Area... feels sketch.
    2. Parking... during the day, the parking lot can get packed because of the Northgate Market.
    3. Locals and Spanish speaking peeps, everyone = Must be hella good.
    4. Be prepared to wait in two lines.
    5. Line #1: To order
    6. LIne #2: To get your food
    7. Is it quick? Not really but after a bite, you don't mind.
    8. Horchata: it's only $1.50 for a good sized cup.
    9. Get something cheesy if you can bc they are all about the burnt cheese.
    10. Out of all the meats, Al Pastor is my jam!
    12. Red vs Green Salsa: Get the Green!
    13. Hard to find seating so we can ate in the car.
    14. 3 tacos and 2 Volcan = $7
    15. Why not pictures of food? Too busy eating and forgot.  I wanted that hot gooey burnt cheese.
